What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that websites place on your device to remember information about your visit. Similar technologies include local storage and pixels. They help websites work properly, remember preferences and measure how a site is used.
How we use cookies
| Type | Purpose | Examples |
|---|---|---|
| Essential | Remember choices such as dismissing the cookie notice. | Local storage key tn_cookie_ok |
| Analytics | Understand which pages and tools are used so we can improve them. | Aggregated page-view statistics |
| Advertising | Serve, personalise and measure ads that keep the site free. | Google AdSense / DoubleClick cookies |
Our tools themselves do not use cookies to store your files or text. Everything you process stays in your browser's memory and is cleared when you leave the page.
Google advertising cookies
Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads on our site. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this and other sites on the internet. You can opt out of personalised advertising at Google Ads Settings or aboutads.info. Learn more in Google's advertising policies.
Managing cookies
You can control and delete cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers let you block all cookies, block third-party cookies only, or clear cookies when you close the browser. Blocking cookies will not stop our tools from working, but you may see less relevant ads.
