    About the Resize Image tool

Every platform wants images at a particular size: 1080 × 1080 for an Instagram post, 1200 pixels wide for a blog header, 600 × 600 for a passport-style profile photo, or under 2000 pixels for an online application. Resize Image gives your pictures exactly the dimensions you need without installing a photo editor.

Type a width or height in pixels, or scale by percentage. With “keep aspect ratio” switched on, the other side is calculated automatically so nothing looks stretched. High-quality smoothing is used when shrinking, so edges and text stay clean. Resize one image or a whole folder of product photos with the same settings.

    How to resize an image

    1. Add one or more images.
    2. Choose to resize by pixels or by percentage.
    3. Enter the new width and/or height (or a percentage). Keep the aspect ratio box ticked to avoid distortion.
    4. Click Resize images and download your resized files.

    When is it useful?

Resize product photos to a consistent size for an online shop, shrink screenshots for documentation, create thumbnails for a blog, or meet the dimension limits of a job or visa portal. To cut an image to a specific shape rather than scale it, use Crop Image; to make the file lighter as well, follow up with Compress Image.

    Frequently asked questions

    Will resizing reduce quality?

Making an image smaller keeps it sharp. Making it much larger than the original cannot add detail, so enlarged images may look soft.

How do I resize without distortion?

Keep “Keep aspect ratio” ticked and enter only the width or only the height. The other side is calculated automatically.

What size should a website image be?

For full-width banners, 1600–2000 pixels wide is plenty. For images inside an article, 800–1200 pixels wide is usually enough.

Can I resize to an exact width and height?

Yes. Untick “Keep aspect ratio” and fill in both fields. If the proportions differ from the original, the image will be stretched — use Crop Image first to avoid that.
